JSC “Kazakhfilm” National film studio named after Shaken Aimanov” founded in 1934

Was first known as «Almaty newsreel studio» with first documentaries released in 1936. On November 15th 1941 «Almaty studio» was merged with «Mosfilm» and «Lenfilm»and named «Central United Film Studio».
At that time studio was releasing 80% of all Soviet fiction films until 1944. On January 9th 1960 the studio’s name was changed to «Kazakhfilm» and in 1984 added with the name of the outstanding Kazakhstani director Shaken Aimanov.
Today «Kazakhfilm» National Film Studio named after Shaken Aimanov» is the biggest film studio of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, establishing itself as a trusted brand which consistently delivers high-quality entertainment to local and international audience with the large catalog over 800 titles: feature films, documentaries, shorts, and animated films. «Kazakhflim» has great experience and provides full-cycle services from pre-production and location scouting, production, post-production to marketing and distribution.
