In the heart of Paris – on the Champs-Elysees – there will be screenings of films created with the assistance of the State Center for Support of National Cinema on request of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event is held within the framework of the IV Festival of Kazakh Cinema in France.
From 27 to 30 October 2022, a number of films will be shown at the Lincoln cinema, including the sports drama “Paralympian”, the historical blockbuster “Dawn of the Great Steppe”, the feature films “The Last Session”, “Fire”, “Zoya's Return”, “Tarlan” (a co-production of Kazakhstan and Tatarstan). There also will be a retrospective screening of the film “Tulip” and an exclusive screening of the project “Infiniti” created by cinematographers from France, Belgium, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other countries.
The opening of the festival was attended by the Kazakh cinema authors, their French colleagues, representatives of the Kazakhcinema center, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in France, journalists. Among the participants and guests of the event are actress Samal Eslyamova, directors Darezhan Omirbayev, Sergey Dvortsevoy, Aldiyar Bayrakimov, Aizhan Kassymbek, producers Diana Ashimova and Laura Ergalieva, etc.
The delegation of the Kazakhcinema center, headed by Deputy Chairman of the Board Baurzhan Shukenov, has a large business program: meetings with the management of cinema chains, participation in the work of the business platform with representatives of the French film business, presentation of projects for joint film production and negotiations with colleagues from CNC (National Center of Cinematography and Animation of France) and UniFrance (organization responsible for the promotion of French movies all over the world).
The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in France provided great assistance in holding the Days of Kazakh Cinema. The event is organized by the State Center for Support of National Cinema with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It is also worth noting that the Kazakh Film Festival is expanding its borders this year and will be held in Paris, Strasbourg, Brussels, Luxembourg and Geneva. The festival is timed to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and France. The organizer of the festival is the French Association of Kazakh Cinema, headed by Mr. Andre Rafael Ivanov.
